"blockchains will fade into the background and people won't care which one they are using"

People won’t care which ones they are using. Developers will.

I don’t think there’s a universe where we get to mainstream adoption if people have to care about the chain things are on.

i think mainstream users will care a lot about which chain they're on, but for different reasons than developers

users will want be where "the best stuff" is for their use case. this will be where developers decide to build it

the user hook for internet wasn't nuclear-proof tcp/ip

agree that users chose internet b/c that's where the best stuff was all being built

Fully believe that if end users have to care about what chain they are on, we will most certainly fail to go truly mainstream.

There's only 1 internet, there needs to be 1 universal settlement layer or it's all a bust, imo.
