Lots of considerations.

These FC airdrops seem to be mostly marketing endeavors. So it’s easy to frame as a user acquisition calculation, where the app paying for marketing wants to filter for “quality” users. Which leads to more considerations on what makes a “quality” user in this context.

Ultimately no one is forcing anyone to hold the tokens. The airdropper works with FC to decide criteria, the airdrop receivers decide on their own criteria of determining what to do with the tokens. Always tradeoffs, so I have a hard time critiquing the current way FC is going about this

I think it’s a red herring to worry about selling 

If you have a real product with utility and it needs an asset that’s not usdc or eth, you probably don’t need to worry about people paper handing it if they like the product

Mostly agree. Hopefully FC team can develop a decent algorithm that allows some level of selling without significant punishment moving forward. Maybe they’re already doing that and it’s a “small sample size” problem currently.

On the other hand, it’s completely understandable that a dev/protocol would prefer to avoid airdropping to insta-jeets. I don’t really see that as sell shaming, nor do I consider the carrot on the stick approach currently being used for these FC drops as sell shaming. But that’s getting into opinions and semantics

Well $bracky and $dev were the two best ones for me. I didn't sell them I used them to test the developers product and then bought more of both because I was interested. I only tested because I received an airdrop. Now had they airdroped to every FID these tokens would have dumped into nothing.

Build a real product that doesn't require finding bagholders?

The non-mythical user that that only wants airdrops to sell are plentiful though. So if a developer airdrops to one million+ FIDs 99% will sell immediately destroying the chart. What's the solution?
