I agree. In fact, a lot of variability can come from the transfer process, the engineer’s approach (like George Marino preferred using a 20-bit/48 kHz PCM converter for the Analogue Productions SACDs), or even the condition of the master tape itself. So, it’s entirely possible that a copy could actually sound better, just because it’s in better shape. https://positive-feedback.com/audio-discourse/master-tapes-shmaster-tapes/
