@almoapp
Hi @sinaver, here's why we need the signer - and why it's safe.
The signer permission allows our app to act as a simple bridge between the actions you take inside ALMO and the Farcaster network. When you like, recast, quote, follow, or comment in the app, the signer transmits the action you chose to perform. ALMO does nothing on its own. There are no automated interactions, no hidden activity, and no background engagement.
The permission comes with zero risk or cost for users. You can remove it at any time from Farcaster’s advanced settings. We also pay the signer approval fees for every user.
We understand that some people prefer not to grant signer access, and we are working on a way to make it optional in the future. Today it remains necessary because of how engagement flows inside ALMO. Other engagement apps require users to leave the mini-app, interact manually on the cast, then return to verify eligibility. This is often slow and inconvenient. By using the signer, ALMO allows users to engage directly in the app, creating a smoother and faster experience, aligned with our strategy.
Our priorities remain transparency, efficiency, and allowing full control in the hands of the user.
