Find it a bit sad and also symbolic of academia in general that the research funding agency for the UK doesnt have ‘make an impact’, ‘make people’s lives better’ or ‘discover something new’. In this ‘goals for the PhD’ questionnaire. They’ve totally lost sight of the purpose of research.
