Many projects built on EVM, but Solana has achieved decentralization by eliminating the main risk - FTX. SVM not popular yet, but may gain momentum. EVM and SVM have similar functions, but Solana's VM is faster and more efficient. EVM struggles with processing multiple transactions due to its single-threaded runtime

personally i feel like the FuelVM is the way to go, as they took the best from the EVM and tried to improve it FuelVM = EVM with parallelization + native support for erc20s https://youtu.be/DhBkrc9dECg?si=v6ZSAg11MgGDU-Vj

Thanks for the insights. Are the VM capabilities that important in the context of decentralized blockchains? I mean, even if you can produce blocks in zero time, distributed nodes still need to validate the proposed block and synchronize. I guess that the smart contract execution time is not the bottleneck here?

We built solmates.xyz with the goal of building a web3 first discord. Solana was a no brainer to build something of this scale
