Heard people here are talking about ChatGPT in college, here’s some firsthand experience after my first year at UW Madison 

- personally I use it a lot for defining terms and explaining concepts 
- I use it to check my essays and improve them, and sometimes provide me with an outline before writing

How well does it work for research on tasks?

I am a biochem major, so not writing as many essays as some of my other friends. But I do sometimes use it to check my lab reports but I just need to add it to my citations

Yes I’ve noticed ChatGPT is not great at doing math problems or physics. But it’s been very helpful with concepts.

I majored in anthropology and history, so for me ChatGPT was incorrect more often than not. But it was useful for suggestions on how to fix awkward paragraphs, or how to summarize key sections of my papers.
