Base is focused on bringing more people onchain, while Farcaster imo should take a leap in the different direction aka emphasize and strengthen the community and culture we already have. I dont think someone will benefit from people who already had some hype somewhere else, but we will build the real culture and leave a legacy if we will bring something unique to the world from this small cozy place of 37 weirdos. I mean, I believe in power of a small but strong community, so totally agree with your statement

right now farcaster plays into this "aura" "mystery" thing, which is fine, but it's aura around nothingness, so doing nothing almost increases that aura.

memecoin traders should have to work 10x as hard to even touch trending here. they are a drain on the network, not a source of vitality.

right now builders are mostly downstream of traders-- this is the crux of @jc4p complaining they're making money off his effort. they're making more money than him off his effort.

why would i build a project to see some memecoin trader snipe it and make $100k, or even worse to launch a completely useless project with no effort and max return on it. Especially if they kill the meta like aethernet did for ai agents.

even higher up the chain is i.e. clanker that expects to take half a project's equity for deploying the token.

they are treated first class which puts builders beneath them

so i reckon what you're saying is that the algorithms are meant to get smarter on what to optimse for, makes absolute sense 

and you'll always get what you want via following

filters/feeds/algorithms are just on top of the snapchain firehose in any case. it's just saying base should prioritize memecoin stuff and farcaster should prioritize something like technical growth.

or maybe it's lifestyle.. lifestyle probably should float between but it tends to dominate today.. and building for the most part is only incentivized to the order of i.e. miniapps or frames or bots or whatever the current meta is.

it's just something i'd like to see can't speak for everyone

there seem to be different types of artists, like if someone is just posting NFT mints, I don't want to see that in my feed. If @trupty is sharing her work progress or just nice art images, i actually like seeing that because i can appreciate the effort behind it.

i'm not sure of the appropriate breakdown, but probably base is better suited for helping an artist profit.

on the other hand, if farcaster prime is only memes/lifestyle/mints that's a big turnoff for someone like me who comes to learn
