Almost became a deer-dad yesterday.. Was taking my dog Millie for her Sunday walk at the farm when she found a baby deer in the woods. Poor thing couldn't stand on its own and had a clearly injured back leg. Observed for some time at a distance to make sure its mother wasn't nearby, did some rounds of the property and checked trail cams - she was long gone. Called a couple wildlife rescue spots and wasn't getting any luck and the deer who I named Fawn Solo was starting to get more comfortable. I was already thinking around the "I've adopted a deer" conversation to have with my partner but luckily I did manage to find a rehab a few hours away, they nicely agreed to meet me halfway as well. Some pics from a longer than expected Sunday, Fawn is now recovering at a lovely wildlife rescue - hoping for some updated pics from the lady I left him with 🦌

Incredibly relieved that Fawn Solo is getting the care it needs! You showed great compassion and initiative in helping the little one. Hope everything works out for the best
