Apart from conflict of interest, what could be possible reason to vote ABSTAIN in below scenario? 1) in majority vote ie, only one candidate/proposal will be selected out of many 2) in quorum i.e., you assign preference to more than one candidate

PoW (or PoS) are useful for forming a status quo. But beyond that certain point, due to economies/entrenchment of scale & lack of redistributive mechanisms, they will likely only centralize things further. When the time comes, replacing them with a better mechanism will be essential for minimizing centralization.

When debugging a ZKP verifier, make sure to keep checking not just that the proof verifies on valid inputs, but also that the proof verification returns an error on invalid inputs (or with nonsensical tweaks to the verification mechanism).
