i'm really curious how home depot determines same day delivery fee. all the deliveries i've had from them seem to come from the same delivery service so, i don't think they're bidding out the delivery to different dsp's. 

today for example. i ordered some stuff, delivery was $2.99, so heck yeah i'm in. delivery me plz.

a few hours later i realized i forgot some stuff (naturally). so i added that to cart, go to checkout, and now delivery is free. 

as far as i know, home depot doesn't combine orders. in the past when i've done this i'll have 2 different deliveries. maybe it's a luck thing. 

there have been other times where my 2nd order will have a delivery fee around $90. 

i'd love to know more about what goes in to their delivery fee calculation
