any ideas why the crowdfund miniapp has gone full on charity focused vs. builder focused?

as someone currently fundraising through my own miniapp, i felt that using crowdfund could subtly shift my message from “create and the community will back you” to “ask for money and you’ll get it,” undermining the whole concept.

true, maybe we need to standardize the practice in a way that makes builders feel more comfortable?

yeah but we saw so many crowdfunds on mirror etc back in the days

probably creates too much responsibility for builders where it’s much easier to ask for money with no expectation of returning anything

i don’t think we have done anything to orient towards charity, rather people have just picked it up and used it this way. v2 will attempt to orient more towards projects
