seeing lots of mid curve takes on why farcaster works or doesn’t but we’re still here chatting on a twitter skeumorphic app with little novelty on the social experience side (or rather its hidden under layers of know how and tacit knowledge - bots, mini apps..) its not obvious at all what the one thing im here for is we can rationalize however we want and compare to past successes, the past is the past we need something new. easier said

consumer crypto is only for making money, period. airdrops, investments(including VCs), gambling, tipping, NFTs, etc....etc.. etc.. social is a by-product or add-on benefit, still serving the primary motivation to make money. the noble "data-ownership" benefit has not really attracted much users so far. projects like polymarket and @noiceapp have accepted this truth about consumer crypto and are leaning hard into it.

yeah so there’s no “consumer crypto” category. crypto is just a payments backend ai front end, crypto back end

i think they will agree. crypto create markets in places you couldn’t have them before. that’s the unlock. using this for gambling is our lack of imagination
