it's always been laughable to me living in france that euros think their *standard* food is so much better than in the US - the amount of processed and junk foods people eat here is comparable, and the only real difference is prices (higher), portion sizes (smaller) and income (lower) it's just that the euros on these english language platforms tend to be the upper middle class so they're predisposed to thinking, "of course everyone shops at farmers' markets, stays away from fast food and is mindful of eating the best ingredients, like me"
