In Madrid, we have places to drop our old clothes, which are supposed to be recycled. What's happening lately is that vagabonds open those containers and search for clothes. The twist is that hipsters are now also scavenging them with the hope of finding a jewel there. It is another way of recycling.

From the official website of the local council: 15 % is sold through authorized shops, 50 % is fully recycled, and the rest represent clothes that cannot be used. They don't say what happens to that 25% And I have discovered, oh surprise, that these containers are handled by private companies—the same companies that later resell the clothes in good condition. I'm assuming that these companies are not getting enough money and are not collecting the containers anymore. Which makes this even worse. https://datos.madrid.es/portal/site/egob/menuitem.c05c1f754a33a9fbe4b2e4b284f1a5a0/?vgnextoid=38e9a94f27294410VgnVCM2000000c205a0aRCRD&vgnextchannel=374512b9ace9f310VgnVCM100000171f5a0aRCRD
