Easy way to count your calories is to calculate based on carbs / proteins / fats in there

Say your donut weighs 50g. 10g is proteins, what's the rest made of?

If you know the ingredients, Google can tell you it's composition!

1g protein is 4 cal
1g carbs is 4 cal
1g fat is 9 cal

And there you have it!

Say u don't know the ingredients of said theoretical donut. Here's a fun kitchen science experiment you can do!

Take your donut and burn it 🔥 
Use the fire to heat up a pot of water
Measure the temperature rise

1 cal is the energy needed to raise 1g of water by 1 deg C
