sitting in a quiet house as I drink my morning coffee and caffeinate myself to jump start the day I am going to my high school reunion tonight. 30 years. Graduated with about 275 kids and we expect over 80 to show up. Not bad. 6 classmates have passed away since we graduated and we are setting up a small memorial table for them. All 6 were men and it makes me sad to think about it. I saw the rsvps as they were coming in because I’m helping organize the event and it’s crazy how many names I just don’t recognize at all. I can somehow simultaneously close my eyes and feel like I’m 16 and in high school again and I can picture faces and smells and textures of the walls and lockers but don’t remember names.
