On May 3, 2024, NounishProf and I were on stage at FarCon Venice with Farcaster founders Dan and Varun, when I had a chance to ask them a question that was personal to me ** "what is the date where the farcaster thesis will be tested where a farcaster celebrity gets deplatformed and has to go build their own client and successfully does that" I always thought of that thesis as a test for whether Farcaster was building something valuable, otherwise it really was just a Twitter clone for a small network of friendly people. Ironically, (and not to say we've reached the goal and everything is perfect) it feels like we've never been closer to seeing this thesis actually tested. The share of alt client usage has never been higher.
