@adrienne
The other thing I need to figure out is a monetization model outside of Farcaster
For Farcaster, I require users to hold a small amount of $wordaday and the fees generated cover the cost of running the game (thank you @clanker)
Farcaster users are used to making micro payments or aquiring tokens so I don't think the friction prevents too many people from playing.
Outside of Farcaster it gets much more complex. Putting up a paywall will stop a lot of people who would otherwise play from participating.
Some options, off top of my head:
1.) Free trial and then pay small monthly subscription to play ($0.99), or annual fee ($5) . No token rewards for players.
2.) Mimic the farcaster mechanism. Spin up a crypto wallet for every user and take a one time fee which I use to purchase wordaday and put it in their wallets. Players elligible for token rewards. Adds complexity.
3.) Make it always free to play and go for volume of players and sell advertising, get people to sponsor the word of the day, etc.
Some other model?
