The word of the day is rescind. It means to revoke, cancel or repeal a law, order, or agreement. Everyone can learn the word of the day in the @word-a-day miniapp or web site. It’s free and easy to do. But to play the game, you have to actually use the word of the day on social media to prove you understand its meaning. For example, I could say “I will rescind my kids weekly allowance if they chose not to do their chores for the week.” Then I’ll get points if it’s determined I used the word correctly. I can also see how my friends are using the word. The more I see the word of the day pop up on my feed, the more likely I am to remember its meaning and truly learn its definition. The game mechanics are more or less automated and will run on its own, but I hope to get more and more people playing, because there’s a network effect and the game is better the more people play.
