Yeah, I think you're probably right. Foreign nationals can donate to 501(c)(4) social welfare organizations (e.g., NRA, ACLU, etc.) though. Seems like a donation to a candidate-aligned organization would still be a decent option.

Does anyone know if there are campaign finance laws that would prohibit an issuer from programmatically donating trading fees to a SuperPAC? With proper distance from a candidate, it seems like there is an obvious use case for a coin associated with a candidate (e.g., MAGA) to gain public acceptance by acting as a partial donation to the candidate's message. Is anyone building this (or is it illegal)?

SEC's crypto enforcement head resigned less than two weeks before SEC sued Consensys with another frivolous lawsuit, regurgitating claims soundly rejected in Coinbase case. Could be a coincidence, but I imagine SEC morale is at an all-time low. Expect to see more departures as Gensler triples down on failed strategy

A major victory indeed. SEC will be a named defendant in a massive number of lawsuits seeking to invalidate prior administrative proceedings. They will have to return billions of dollars in fines or retry every case in federal court. Either way, I can't imagine that leaves much enforcement budget to fuck with good faith crypto projects (e.g., Coinbase, Uniswap, etc.). It's a great day for both crypto and the rule of law!
