Seeing a lot of comparisons between sentencing for SBF (25 years) and Ross Ulbrecht (life w/o parole). Curious about this channel's thoughts on the matter. My potentially hot take is in the comments.

SBF's massive fraud deserves a lengthy prison sentence, but I think there is a reasonable argument for a harsher penalty for intentionally creating a marketplace specifically for illegal products/services.

In short, Silk Road was a flagrant disregard for the law that the gov simply couldn't allow (particularly at scale), so they made an example of him. And given the lack of comparably sized copycats, it seems to have worked. Thoughts?
