A week ago it seemed like channels were being prioritized again, but now it looks like they have stalled once more. @dwr.eth I understand this is a complex problem to solve, but what, if any opposition do you have bringing people on who've successfully built channels here + have a community background? @kbc @nonlinear.eth curious to hear your thoughts.

It's not a question of hiring someone. It's about prioritization. Channels don't drive growth. We're focused on growth.

This was a valiant attempt, Adam. :) Even after reading that thread I'm still not sure I understand exactly where the stalemate is with channels. But it doesn't sound like channels will be completely deprecated. So people who have already successfully built channels as cozy corners can still choose to monitor them and keep the current membership in a kind of holding state (e.g., by using Cura or group chats) until some kind of decision is made. Not ideal, and not viable for every channel, but better than just allowing the channels to go untended and letting the community energy disperse after putting in all that early time and effort.
