Farcaster airdrops so far are pretty interesting, but they are more like @paperview for high signal accounts than the real airdrops of yore

Basically, a protocol can pay $70k for 10,000 high signal, mostly human impressions / "installs." It's better ROAS than most PPC (not to mention one of the only PPC games in town in crypto)

Back in the day, ENS distributed $10-20k PER PERSON worth of tokens. This took people from users to Believers. It's a different stage of the funnel. I'm excited for more exploration of this part of the Farcaster airdrop design space.

FWIW, $PRO was an example of this, but without a baseline of liquidity / market making there was too much sell pressure on the token. Need to make some classic crypto style AMM deals to keep the baseline up.

I love the overall narrative (it’s the right one) but think airdrops don’t align with it

Bc *how* you make the money matters. Difference between earning something (required contribution) vs getting airdropped 

The challenge is how do you create more supply side money rewards. Subscriptions was a great idea here and doesn’t require tapping into low quality 3rd party treasuries
