"we need to focus on nurturing conversations by giving them more visibility... people are dying for a social media site that is focused on thoughtful, robust, public conversations" Kudos to @kenny who's been banging this drum over and over again. My biggest ongoing frustration here is that thoughtful text-based public conversations are still too difficult to find, follow, and resurface. I use bookmarks daily, but despite my best efforts, plenty of great stuff I want to return to still gets buried in the endless scroll of bookmarks and thus forgotten. That said, I'll continue to do what I can to carve out space for great convos here, because the purple app is my ride-or-die and you nerds are my kinda people. I still believe in the value of channels-as-cozy-corners, too (not hashtags). Yes, they're in a holding pattern for now and need a new form factor, but nonetheless I think they're directionally correct. Also I recently started using @cura to manage my channels, and it makes a big difference.

My hope is that there’s something very sticky about the initial things that brought people here, so whatever new trend that’s being introduced can’t really diminish it. https://farcaster.xyz/adam-/0x2b2b7201

Sounds sensible to me. Hope you're right. In any case I'm gonna double down in the direction of encouraging great convos here, even if they get pushed to the margins of the network. It'll continue to feel like an uphill battle in some ways until we have better affordances for convos, but I'm convinced it's worth the effort to see what's possible in these vast design spaces that combine programmable money + built-in wallets + social.
