Why is it that a public bus in Cornwall, England can offer a USB-C outlet to its users, but a major hotel and airport in Indiana wont?

yeah, those outlets are fine for small devices but not for larger laptops. definitely helps carry fewer adapters for small devices though.

Charger cord is USBC at both ends. I have a battery pack that facilitstes this perfectly, and a majority of my devices are USBC powered. My goal is always to bring the minimal amount of cords with me. I can do that easily in Europe, in the States not so much.

like as a backup if you forget or misplace the adapter for your device while travelling?
