Immediately thought of @faust when I saw this, as there's quite a lot of overlap in the mission statement to authenticate images in the age of AI. Big picture, I see this as a benefit to Faust because: a) Sony's name carries a lot of weight and brings the concept to the masses in a way that Faust can't compete with from a marketing perspective. b) Sony will likely want to promote the CAS & C2PA standards. The more devices that utilize it will end up being a net positive for image authentication awareness. c) Sony has a history of leaning into partnerships to promote its tech (i.e They're part of the AV Alliance for displays, collaborated with Siemens with Immersive Spatial Content Creation and licensed its VR tech to make the VR2 a more robust device) which could lead to a partnership with Faust. IMO the biggest net positive is that it validates the authentication concept at bigger level. Curious to get your thoughts on this announcement @july
