Which drug is the most harmful in terms of the total harm to yourself and others?
One of the oldest and most reputable medical journals, The Lancet, called
alcohol is the most harmful drug. According to the criterion of harm to the alcohol
user, alcohol is second only to heroin, crack and methamphetamine, while overtaking cocaine,
tobacco, marijuana, ecstasy, LSD and many other substances. If we take into
account the harm to others, as well as the total harm index, alcohol is far ahead of all
