Smerkis has been arrested on suspicion of fraud and is currently in custody. He promised good returns through PAWS, took users’ money, and delivered nothing. He promoted BUMS, a project that also took money and left people homeless. He backed pump-and-dump scams like MEMEFI and later launched DONOT, which disappeared with a large amount of investors’ funds.
