The Wind in the Willows Moley, Ratty, Toady, and Mr. Badger have a series of adventures and misadventures. This is one of those timeless classics that has little need of my defense or support, so I’m just gonna highlight a few of my favorite things about it. Toad is a type of serial hyperfocus hopper that my ADHD and spectrumy brethren will relate to. The friendships are cozy and loyal. The characters have fun on little outings and picnics together. They also stand by Toad after he does some fucked up stuff. No petty schoolmarm morality. The English countryside can be an earthly paradise and that comes through in this book. Great characters, great stories, great worldview. A literary treasure masquerading as a silly little bedtime story. Highly recommended for reading with kids.

If you’re not familiar with Nolan Reads on YouTube (https://youtube.com/@nolanreads...?si=eNIDCdwypaMMhzuB) I really enjoy his narration of a number of classics, including Winds In The Willows
