Every book has to prove its worth to the next generation, every generation The default states are - never written - not yet published - didn't sell - forgotten It takes massive energy for a book to break out of the first three categories, but that doesn't just put it into a stable orbit It has to prove its worth to each generation or it falls into obscurity
