can someone explain to me the front end habit of asking users to "switch network" with a prompt and an additional click? just auto switch. the answer is never "no i do not want to switch because i want to stay on the wrong network".

It's a safety thing in case an application switches networks for you in a way you don't intend

This! So annoying! Iβm am moving away from Metamask and this is one of the big reasons. Coinbase wallet seems to give this option too, but no visible change in the app when you confirm. Which is a small step in the right direction.

Does an app have the ability to switch the network for you if youβre using MetaMask? I thought the user needed to agree to that in their wallet.

I'm no dev, but I can get behind manually switching the network. It raises security "awareness" which is good, right?

Or at least add a "don't ask this question again" check box

if youve got a tx pending i think it cancels em when you switch? so you may not always want to if you forget. but 99.9% of time i agree. also mightve made that up?
