We’re planning to launch a new, optional “Pro” protocol subscription 1. At launch, subscribers will have a Pro badge on their profile 2. Subscription will be onchain and part of the protocol. 100% of the proceeds go to casters / developers in weekly rewards. This in addition to the existing $25K+ a week in rewards. 3. Planning to add longer casts (10K characters) and up to 4 images per cast for pro subscribers (needs a protocol change). Additional features over time. 4. $120 a year / $10 a month  Why are we doing this? - The protocol needs to find long-term revenue source that can continue fund caster and developer rewards beyond any one company.   - We originally thought storage fees could be that, but we’ve realized that storage fees should be essentialy free to help growth.  - So we’re trying an opt-in pro subscription as another model Why now? - Figuring out a long-term revenue model that works will allow us to double down on investing in growth

Farcaster team is cooking with gas right now. In the next 7 days: 1. Warpcast -> Farcaster rebrand 2. Auth addresses, no more “Open Warpcast on mobile” in mini apps 3. Spinning up a few targeted cohorts for creator onboarding 4. Launching 2 new ecosystems for wallet / mini apps 5. Another confirmed airdrop 6. Got a bunch of pings of "why wasn't I included for the airdrop?" a. We use *public* data from the protocol and onchain to segment types of users b. We share that information with projects / teams that are considering an airdrop c. They decide how many people and the amount to offer, as well as any activation they are hoping to achieve. Use mini apps *daily* 5. Do transactions with your wallet at least 1x a week, but the more the better and in your warplet 6. If you opt in to an airdrop, following through on the activation, i.e. use the mini app, stake, etc. -- developers want to offer you an airdrop in return for doing something; this is why it's opt-in.
