I see a ton of people on my feed launching creator coins or shilling ones they’ve launched. Unless if the creator is promising utility, why would I buy this? Knee jerk reaction is that it seems extractive, unless if I’m missing something.

There’s no reason, it’s an order—you gotta buy my creator coin for no reason at all. 🤣🤣

🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the honesty. Yeah, the dots are not fully connecting for me. I mean it makes sense to me for people like @mxjxn who’s been intentional about what his token does. But otherwise it’s not clicking for me. I suppose it could be a signaling thing but there seems to be already more delineated ways of doing this like tips. Maybe I gotta get Base back on the pod again to walk us through this. 🤣

From my point of view, it’s just a way to support content creators. Like, just buy some of their creator coins to show your support. Maybe you can define it like this: tipping is for individual pieces of content, but buying creator coins is to support their page overall (if you like their page in general). Otherwise, people can’t really find any specific use for it! I think it’s just for support, that’s all.
