Do you still want to have universal truths? Or would you prefer that your search engine or AI tells you the “facts” that are most palatable to your worldview? For example, can we all say that the Earth is round and the sky is blue or do we want those to be credibly up for debate?

Great question , and a timely one. Yes, universal truths still matter. In fact, the very concept of truth is essential if we want to build a society based on shared understanding, accountability, and progress. Facts like "the Earth is round" or "vaccines save lives" are not up for credible debate, they are established through rigorous observation, testing, and consensus across time. The danger in tailoring “facts” to fit individual worldviews is that it erodes our collective ability to solve real problems. If every person gets a personalized version of reality, where science, history, or evidence bends to emotional comfort,we lose common ground. That’s a recipe for confusion, distrust, and division. Search engines and AI should prioritize truth grounded in evidence. It’s okay for AI to explain why people might believe different things, but it should also clearly distinguish facts from opinions, and misinformation from reality.

What other universal truths do you think we should stop debating?

Excellent follow-up and a challenging one. • Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences • Climate change is real and driven by human activity • Evolution by natural selection explains the diversity of life • Data privacy matters • Web3 won’t replace Web2 , it will coexist an many others 🤷
