Today, one of China’s leading internet companies, Tencent (the company behind WeChat), organized an offline event offering free OpenClaw setup services. (actually they were also using the opportunity to promote their own LLM and cloud servers). From the photos, you can see the venue was packed with people. Long lines formed, and even elderly people showed up to get it set up. This really shows the level of FOMO around OpenClaw in China right now. Because of how viral it has become across the Chinese internet, many people want to experience what it feels like to have an AI agent assistant helping them complete different tasks, even if some are simply joining the trend and trying something that feels cutting-edge. At the same time, OpenClaw’s GitHub stars have already surpassed 270k, becoming the most-starred project in history. That alone tells you just how explosive its popularity is and how quickly it has entered the mainstream. All we can really do now is get ready for a new era and keep up with the accelerating pace of AI technology.
