Am I the only person who reads several books together and doesn’t finish at least half of them?

Currently in rotation:

- The Americans and Everybody Else by Russian author I. Kurilla 
- Saving Time by J. Odell
- Die My Love by A. Harwicz (short one but I broke it up in 4 segments)
- You Are What You Watch by @walthickey

I couldn’t fit the whole excel spreadsheet of books that are in progress

creating and destroying; flying cars, roc.camera, july.rocks

So how do I keep it together? 

Upon retrieval, do you cling to facts or remix patterns? Do you use abstractive synthesis like a chef with no recipe, just vibes and deep flavor memory?

Yeah. I think a part of me thinks of things like this: Words matter more than books. So in a way I think that sometimes not all the time, the authors themselves are just conduits for bringing words into the world. So it doesn’t really matter whether it was a book or whether was a pamphlet or just something written on the side of a wall end of the day. 

All I really care about is how the words made me feel And if they made me think and that’s really it so I guess that’s why I don’t care about whether I finish books or not because all I care is whether I was moved or not

Makes sense. Also worth considering that consumer internet has also evolved. 

We used to chase accuracy.
Now we chase recall.

Precision lost to speed.
Folders lost to search.

I used to take extensive notes. I used to highlight things, and put them in notes etc. so that I'd remember etc. Nothing wrong with that, everyone has different ways, but it's not where I am today. It might change in the future, it might not. I still do keep an spreadsheet to track all the books I've read and write reviews for myself, but otherwise, all vibes.
