The game is gud. I’m AFK crafting and gathering a bunch of stuff while trading in the trenches.
It has an entirely player-built world, except for starting zones scattered around the map everything else is built by players.
There’s an entirely player-driven economy with mechanics that keep you grounded; you can’t teleport with a bunch of resources. Each settlement has its own economy, so traders keep the world connected.
No servers, just one massive world.
There are plans to fully open source everything. There’s new, promising backend technology. They are selling their main passion project, an MMO, to gamers and have an entirely separate business selling backend technology and servers to developers.
I’m super impressed with everything I’ve seen so far. The attention to detail is incredibly efficient, in my opinion, and it also aligns with the web3 ethos, so I find it extra curious!
The game plans to stay in early access for 2 years, which is fair since there are a lot of rough edges that need a lot of love.
