my wife is 37 weeks and we had a false alarm hospital visit in the middle of the night. she’s being hard on herself for calling in help for the kids when she wasn’t in labor. has this happened to you? is it common?

TLDR momma knows best and y’all are doing fine. My wife once had 3 nights in a row of false labor before 26 hours of actual labor. We went to the hospital every time, but she worried the last night (when it really began) was also a false alarm and tried waiting to let me sleep. Eventually, she had to physically push me out of bed onto the floor when I didn’t wake up. I was in the middle of a brick and mortar startup and totally exhausted at the time. Now, I’d be happy to do it all again! Maybe not the startup, but that was a long time ago 😅

It felt like a week by the time we finally got out of the hospital. The neighbors in the next room had a screamer, so we didn’t get any sleep there either. Everyone was great though. Wife, doctors, nurses, family - all champs. Plenty of fresh coffee, too. It’s probably a much smoother process nowadays. And you’ll have your own fun stories to share. Wishing y’all many happy blessings with your new bundle of joy!

we had a 12 hr all nighter w our 2nd, and i thought that was bad. prolly the scariest was the very end when the heartbeat tracker went off, doctors were out to lunch, wife suddenly said it’s time, and one of the nurses in the background of the intercom said “oh no oh no oh NO OH NO” i was a ghost 😂 we got this! loved reading your experience, great to read smth human like that, after a little too much chatgpt
