I asked an AI agent to write some code for me and all it did was put a bunch of commented-out code and TODOs in my code, which I could have done myself - admittedly, less quickly than it did, but, still.

A month or so ago, T-Mobile lost my phone number. It's been a process of being reminded of what things have my old number that need to be updated - including, as I discovered today, our dog's tags, which made it very difficult for the people who found them after they escaped to reach me. Looks like a trip to Petco is in order.

Got to see Static-X last night. Had no expectations of how Xero would sound, but I thought he did a decent job of vocals - definitely not Wayne, but Wayne-y enough where it counts. Definitely a show I'll l want to check out again.

I had paused work on a hobby project in large part due to my frustration with not being satisfied with the UI I implemented and not being able to come up with a better one. Finally threw a screenshot into Windsurf and told it to refactor my CSS to make my UI less awful, and it did. I'm not going to win any awards anytime soon, but the UI is *at least a lot nicer than it was*. I still needed to manually tweak it in some places, but I like the outcome. Even though I'm not vibe coding the app, being able to let the agent design a meets-the-minimum-usability-threshold UI is a great unlock. First image is the old UI; second is the new UI.

This is a great video, but not just for its thesis - the *sheer amount* of portrayals of "alpha males" in media the author collected is kind of staggering both in the exhaustiveness of their research and the realization of how much of it exists.

The ability to paste screenshots into an AI agent chat and ask it for CSS is a godsend for people like myself who are about as skilled with frontend design as a 4-year-old.
