Channel operators have been keeping Farcaster exciting and alive for years, yet somehow only mini-app developers are being rewarded. Even building an independent client doesn’t seem to earn any financial support. They say Farcaster is where you can make money, but the incentives feel off to me

Imagine if protocol metrics meant something. Imagine looking at your # of followers and being proud. Imagine paying $120 for Farcaster Pro and actually getting a spam-free experience. Imagine the algorithms that run this network were open-source and you could customize them to your liking.

When someone says they're building on Farcaster, how do you know if they mean the centralized client or the sufficiently decentralized protocol? It’s odd how easily we’ve overlooked the crucial distinction between client and protocol. Makes me question a lot of things.
