Today, @almanax transitions from beta to general availability (GA). What happens when the number of lines of code engineers produce goes up 100x thanks for coding assistants like Cursor? How are security teams supposed to handle that? We believe AI will change security the same way it’s changing software engineering. Almanax is an AI security engineer designed to help security teams prevent hacks. Sign up on app.almanax.ai and integrate LLMs in your security processes.

One of the hardest things a startup has to do is building a brand. Why should any company trust you and buy your product when they’ve never heard of you before? “No one has ever been fired for buying IBM” is a popular saying that fully captures that challenge. Today I’m excited to bring @carampearson on board. She worked at some of the most trusted cybersecurity companies in the world like Trail of Bits, Informal Systems, and Rapid7. She’s now going to help us grow the Almanax brand. Help me welcome her properly to Farcaster!

We just launched a new feature → Custom Rules Until now, security teams had to learn a specific syntax to codify behaviors they wanted to enforce in code, increasing barriers to adoption. We’ve removed that barrier. Users can now specify detection rules and build custom detectors in plain English. 📖 👀

These are the stats for our latest job post. There’s no way we’re going to be able to look at all the applications so I feel like sharing suggestions for applicants: ▶️ Don’t spray and pray. Clicking easy apply to 1000 jobs doesn’t really work. ▶️ Reach out to the person who posted the job. Keep it short, 2 sentences are more than enough. ▶️ Cover letters are useless, no one reads them anymore. Don't waste time on them. ▶️ Remove that “Open to work” green frame from your profile picture. That’s one of LinkedIn’s worst features and it does nothing to help you.

According to recent scientific publications, 80% of software bugs are machine unauditable. That means that traditional security tools, which rely on manually written rules and detectors, can't catch the majority of security issues in modern codebases.

I recently came across this idea of the Surfer Mentality thanks to Sahil Bloom. When a surfer gets up on a wave, they enjoy the present moment, even though they know the wave is eventually going to end. They’re able to enjoy THIS wave, with the wisdom and awareness that there are always more waves coming. They know the most important truth: you can’t catch any waves sitting on the shore. You have to put yourself in the water. It’s a powerful mentality for riding the waves of life. To fully embrace whatever wave you’re currently on. It may be a wave of grief, a wave of struggle, a wave of challenge. It may be a wave of joy, a wave of growth, a wave of new love. Be present in that wave. It will bring new peace, fulfillment, and happiness.
