ῥήτωρ (rhḗtōr), means "public speaker" in Ancient Greek. It's where the term "rhetorical question" comes from: A question that doesn't need an answer, or one that the answer is given by the speaker. - Is this really a problem? No, and I'll tell you why. - Isn't this weather beautiful? However, sometimes a rhetorical question is a statement disguised as a question. We are so familiar with the form, that "After listening all this, how is it possible to say that the man is not guilty?" implies that the answer is obvious -even if it's not. In text-based social media where context is limited, and the communication bandwidth is even more limited, it is often hard to decide if a question is an actual question or a statement discussed as a rhetorical question. Please don't use questions when you want to make a statement, it's not cute and it often leads to misunderstandings.

I need a contingency plan. When everyone joins Farcaster, and shares funny, engaging 9:16 videos, how do I reserve a little corner where I can be with the 10 people who know what local-first is, are proud for building a new cli tool, and share retro computing stories? Can channels be this?

The law of diminishing returns is brutal when it comes to software development. The effort and investment required to make a polished (+ stable, efficient, able to handle edge cases, etc.) product is 10x or 100x what you spent for the mvp.

Call me the logic police but: 1. The actual point made here is that America has cultural hegemony over the English-speaking Internet. (kinda obvious) 2. A more useful point could be made if "the entire non-English speaking Internet was live-commenting..." -but my guess is that it doesn't stand. 3. Wrong reasoning does not mean that the conclusion is not valid.

This is one of the best homelab servers I ever had. Not the most powerful, but really silent, very small footprint and it feels so reliable compared to much higher-speced (but same price range) computers I've had in the past. Really love it. snapsnapdown is a Snapchain Snapshot Downloader. I wrote it because I had some issues when I was setting up my node. It gives you more flexibility than the embedded downloader: - You can stop/start and it will pick up where you left. - When restarting, local chunk sizes will be compared to remote, and if they do not match they will be re-downloaded - Concurrent chunk downloads: I have found that sometimes a chunk may download at very low speeds, having concurrent downloads removes the bottleneck and results in faster overall download. - Downloaded chunks are not automatically deleted. - It looks nicer :-) https://github.com/vrypan/snapsnapdown
