I redact my early Figma Make hate. It may not be the BEST AI vibe-design tool out there, but with a professional plan it is the only tool that grants unlimited AI credits (from what I can tell so far) and integrates with existing design system documentation much more seamlessly, meaning you have much closer to completed design with less need for manual pixel pushing.

I need some help and I'm hoping this local network can come through: I'm searching for an espresso grinder and an espresso brewer w/ steam wand to use for one day. If you have any equipment could lend or have any coffee nerd friends with dope setups that you could connect me to, please help a brother out!

Crick Watch Day 9 Down in Onion Creek. Trails have been wrecked by horses. Water looks healthy. Many crossings underwater. Got caught in the rain on the way home — flash flood risk is as high as ever right now. Stay careful.

Almost a month in: Some days are good, some days I reach straight for the phone and doomscroll again. More good days than bad. Writing down things to do or mentally preparing my morning the night before have helped tremendously. We keep going.

A couple years ago I imagined what cars would look like as fully autonomous micro-mobility public transport infrastructure, rather than personal, private mobility. Cities could partner with private companies to deploy fleets of autonomous vehicles that could act as platforms to host a variety of internal experiences: comfy lounge, newsstand, F&B vending, etc. Jeff Bezos' backed startup Zoox is exploring that very possibility: https://zoox.com/ Autonomous vehicle mobility solutions are going to start with rideshare, bleed into delivery & shipping, and could eventually end up replacing thousands of private commutes in every city each day. Cars are not going away in our cities so we should be imagining bigger ways to turn them into mobility solutions. Obviously, I have my reservations about a Bezos' backed company, but this is a first mover toward a vision I feel strongly could positively impact urban mobility forever.

I've been diving into a ton of research on EVs, AVs, smart cities, mass transit, circular economic models, renewable energy grids, and so on. Seeing clear trends of major infrastructure players in these fields having +20-40% performance on the year, compared to struggling emerging tech sectors and incumbent tech players. Increased global regulatory mandates, shifting public opinions and reduced technological barriers are guiding cities to build greener, smarter, and more accessible. Cities are passing these incentives down to corporations and small business owners. The message is clear: Think further upstream. Design for longevity. Build circular loops.

Crick Watch Day 2 📸 🧵 - Aside from some debris in Shoal Creek and washed out trails along Ladybird, there’s little evidence of the floods from the weekend. - Streams have honestly never looked healthier after rinsing out all their debris. - Ladybird Lake trash island has piled up past the Longhorn Dam. - Park maintenance crews are expecting to start cleanup efforts next weekend. No cleanup volunteer movements yet since the state is still focused on Kerrville relief.

Crick watch. We’re lucky to only have minimal flooding here. The millions that have gone into flood management and creekbed restoration in systems like Waller are paying off right now. Massive trash island out in the middle of Ladybird Lake right now. Anyone have a big net? Ways to help the folks in Kerrville from afar: https://www.statesman.com/story/news/state/2025/07/05/how-to-help-texas-flood-victims-kerrville-camp-mystic-guadalupe-river-red-cross/84479206007/
