my mac mini is at 80C every morning when i get to my desk. its doing nothing overnight as far as i know, but its consistently super hot. then when i start using it, it cools off to baseline wtf is going on? am i part of a cryptomining botnet? how do i diagnose whats causing all the cpu cycles and/or heat?

- to establish itself, fc needs lots of users - as a dau, you are unusual. lots of users are not like you - merkle is optimizing to attract and retain lots of users who are not like you once you internalize this, a lot of the conflict and confusion around merkle's strategy will resolve itself

Spent most of last week at PorcFest, the libertarian burning man. Overall I had a great time. Met very cool ppl, got to see Ross Ulbricht talk about buddhism and prison, was offered exotic currencies and recreational bacteria, ate bacon produced via child labor, and heard enough outrageous theories to last all year My biggest takeaway is that I don’t spend enough time with ppl outside my bubble.

there was one day in 2019 or so when youtube banned a ton of crypto channels, and they all came over to LBRY and brought their followers. our DAU practically tripled overnight moments like these are high-leverage. we didn't take advantage when Brazil banned Twitter. lets not miss the next one

Reading these stories makes me so grateful for @neynar’s process Went from DMing @rish to - intro call - 2 technical interviews - culture fit chat - job offer in 10 days start to finish. Total time on calls was ~3 hours.
