Things I'd do if I had infinite time and money (in no particular order): All these fall under the theme of providing neutral, nuanced context about things, which I feel strongly about.
* Create a FC miniapp similar to (but better than!) X community notes (I started this with @communitynotes a while ago, but never came back to it). Something like contextual notes are the tip of the iceberg on what can be done in this area.
* Work on Espresso (because it's just genuinely fun)
* Benchmark consensus protocols as a neutral third party, focusing on comparative benchmarks between protocols that are run in the same environment, hardware setup, etc. We have very few benchmarks that are actually comparable to each other. I'd also focus on scaling benchmarks--how do these protocols run on 1000s of nodes?
* Create a sequencer equivocation watcher service that listens to sequencers and flags if they reorg/equivocate. This information isn't captured currently unless someone just happens to notice it when it happens.
* Write blog posts deeply explaining consensus, sequencers, L2s, L1s, etc. These posts would be meant to provide nuanced context on these topics while expanding my own understanding.
I know I should try to do these things now, even a little bit--particularly the ones that don't involve spending money. 0 reply
