it’s actually insane how much you can stand out just by caring more about your users.
most businesses have shitty customer service. i’m saying this as someone who actively shares feedback with different business owners/teams because i want them to be better - esp in places where i live.
so many just pretend to ‘hear you’, apologize for whatever they messed up, and don’t do much. if businesses don’t take care of me, i won’t take care of them — it’s that simple.
there’s a subset of users that REALLY care about ethos, values, mission, and most of all actions from brands - and, statistically, tiny subset of users care enough to even share feedback, let alone engage in convo afterwards.
the best in class listen, filter, and iterate - and the worst just pretend and deteriorate.
what might not be obvious is that those exact people who care enough to help you improve might be your best users/customers, and if you lose them, you lose your strongest asset.
to truly care or not. the choice is yours. 3 replies

final comments / *personal* takeaways after taking time + having some convos:
re: Coinbase
- understand that @coinbase lobbying is overall net positive for our space, and i tend to give them the benefit of the doubt
- not expecting Coinbase being cypherpunk - but, i do expect CB to honor its public commitments, values, and clarify important controversies
re: Base
- it’s very important for @base to progressively decentralize and become as credibly neutral as possible, reducing/removing its dependency
- it’d be great to see @optimism Collective helping accelerate this process, further strengthening commitment within the ecosystem
this experience made me:
- think harder of the value of credible neutrality and how easy it could be to underestimate its criticality
- reinforce the importance of expanding to @ethereum L1 sooner - to leverage credible neutrality for @commit protocol & high stakes commitments
- question what it means to stay true to your values once you become way, way bigger than you ever anticipated - and what are your non-negotiables
with that said, still believe in Base team and community, as ik and respect many of you, and as an ecosystem builder, i’d love to see Base accelerating its independence. as for Coinbase, there’re still open questions from the community that need to be addressed, and i hope the experience and community reaction will help them improve. 0 reply
