Officially able to tip again with @noiceapp. I’ve set it up based on my previously mentioned idea to tip in $SPOT, the decentralized low-volatility commodity money. Hopefully this gets people on board with something that is neither a centralized USD-backed stablecoin, a precarious multi collateral crypto “stable,” nor a long-term trend-towards-zero meme token. Call me an ideologue, but I want to encourage people to engage with decentralization more, not less, as crypto scales.

Update, I can run fish in iTerm2 and it works, but then Starship doesn’t. On Ghostty, starship works on zsh but not fish and fish “works” but can’t find any commands for some reason. So, as long as I use Ghostty with zsh and Starship I get most of the functionality I want. But it makes me wonder if I should use: a) Oh My Zsh and P10K instead of Starship b) Alacrity or Wezterm instead of Ghostty c) Warp instead of anything custom

A country that: - enforces anti LGBTQ laws that kill people - requires presidents to swear faith to god - supports religious supremacist military causes that enable genocide - unlawfully overturns workers protections and civil rights laws - blatantly disregards UN declaration of human rights and the geneva convention - is controlled by oligarchs and heavily influenced by foreign “adversaries of the west” That’s the United States of America.

Came to showcase the bluesky supports keyboard shortcuts: N = new post ⌘ + enter = post (and my vim movements to keep my hands on home row the whole time) But then I realized that Farcaster supports these exact same shortcuts!

My general approach in life is I wait until the narrative becomes [concept] is dead, and then I take interest in it. Essentially my goal is to subvert hype and do things only for the joy they elicit and the outcome they enable beyond profitability. Now that coding is dead and everything is AI teams being run by wanna be middle-management, I’ve found myself becoming more and more into it. Ive been doing some fun online tutorials, playing with VS code with and without copilot’s help, and even exploring Vim. By the way, I’d love to know what languages you think I should consider learning and why. I’m not looking for a career in development anytime soon, which is why I’ve mainly focused on HTML, CSS, and JS to play with rebuilding my website from scratch, but I’m open to learning to build apps and programs I can use in my daily life and maybe share.

I used Karabiner Elements to map hyper (for me caps lock) + h/j/k/l to arrow keys, and now I can vim my way around any program. I was using Vimium on my browser but I found it causing a lot of problems with different web pages. Until I’ve taken time to learn all the shortcuts, I’ll stick to this approach.

If I were to continue my blog/newsletter/whatever you wanna call it, Thumbs’ Update, would it be better to: A) continue posting to both Mirror and Paragraph (despite Mirror being deprecated) B) post only to Paragraph C) move elsewhere and just create tipping/patronage nfts per article? (Perhaps with some sort of Unlock Protocol integration)

I don’t understand @noiceapp. If I change to anything other than USDC I can’t give an allowance. It just asks me how how much USDC to allow. But I know other people use other tokens so what gives? I’ve tried SPOT and GHO. Both on Base, and both set as the tipping currency. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled.
