People with capital like to pretend that capital isn’t a self-fulfilling prophecy. What you fund is more likely to come true. So don’t fund things that kill people or break the fabrics of society. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

$HIGHER continues to be the only token with a brand independent of leaders, speculation, and protocol.

If the people don’t want to tip in $DEGEN, why should they? You should tip in the token that you most identify with. “Stop trying to fight it.” If the fight is “Farcaster can only have one community token win” then I will fight. Makes no sense, and isn’t the model I want to promote.

Tipping was annoying when the community made it annoying. I respect DEGEN for all they have done for Farcaster, but I don’t think I ever want to go back to the time of peak DEGEN tipping culture. My feed and kverall FC experience today are much better. Noice, on the other hand, gives everyone the power to tip without spamming the feed. Token distribution is at an all time high across many niche community tokens. People are getting rewarded in new and creative ways. I just don’t see the downsides. It has only made my experience better over the last month.

One of the more subtle ways of telling whether someone wrote a piece using AI is analogies and metaphors that sound cool but don’t really make sense. ChatGPT being the worst culprit.

Attention is an outcome, not a process. People clearly struggle to understand this. The real contest – the set of actions – is to make ideas legible. Look at Mamdani’s campaign. He picked one thing –affordability – and made it the backbone of every message and appearance. He didn’t try to be everything to everyone. He became visible by being unmistakably clear. Obviously, he also played the social media and podcast game well and was in the streets a ton. But plenty of people could throw money at eyeballs and not capture any sort of sustained belief. Capital follows the most legible ideas, even if they're wrong. If they're legible – if they are well-articulated and able to be interacted with – then attention will flow toward them. Trump is the same! He has lots of ideas, most of which make no sense, but he memes very well in a way that makes him legible to different people. This is also why brand is important. It is a form of legibility. When we talk about "narrative strategy," it's less about how to get distribution and more about how to make yourself legible so that distribution is effective.

This aligns with “young, college educated transplant” being Mamdani’s base. I’ll say again: I disagree with a lot of his policies, but the dude is clearly intelligent and ran a great campaign. Also seems like an ethical, charasmatic person. The people just want to believe in something.

Let’s say you plan to buy a house in 12-18 months. You have the money for a down payment, but it’s in the market right now (combo of ETFs and individual stocks). Do you: (1) Keep the money in the market but in a more conservative portfolio (2) Put the money in a savings account and sit on it (3) Something else

The new Airtable AI is great for granular editing of data models and integrations, but requires significantly more work than competitors if you wanna make feature-level improvements to your product. In the few experiments I ran, it also never got the initial data model right.
