My daughter is six weeks now and I feel like we’ve gotten a pretty good handle on the day-to-day stuff. I have another three months of parental leave. What advice or recommendations does parentcaster have for this unique period of time? Any regrets? https://i.imgur.com/hDitOWM.jpg

Try and find a cadence of responsibility with your partner appropriate to their needs. Good book as Fairplay for division of emotional and task labour. Also read Emily Oster’s stuff. Lots of good info to consider/spark ideas. Congrats!

Enjoy the times that are enjoyable, and take comfort that the times that are hard won't last forever. Babies can change so quickly at this age so it's great to just enjoy each moment for what it is! This is the easiest age to travel at for a few years, so if you want to visit family or take a trip, do it!

Cherish every moment. The rate of change this early is insanely high. Also check out the 1SE app and get a video log of these days - I did it for the first year and it was *amazing*

Soon she will be able to crawl and turn into a danger seeking missile. Get some rest.

Just try to dedicate yourself to taking care of your partner and your daughter. It is the best time to BE. Make a nice dinner with your partner, hire a professional photography session... enjoy the little things in life.

Congratulations! Just enjoy it all. Every couple of months something is different. They change so fast. Don’t sweat the small stuff, and if you have a SO, don’t forget to appreciate them, especially when they aren’t at their best.

The only advice I can offer is sleep, sleep, sleep, pay people to sleep, bribe them to sleep, blackmail them to sleep. It’s so hard to be a present parent when you’re so tired that all you want to do is cry. If I were crazy enough to do this again I’d pay a full time salary for someone to let me sleep better.

Probably cliche but savor every present moment. They grow and change so fast the first year, you want to really cherish it. Congrats :)🎉
